ELECTROCARDIOGRAM (EKG)
Polispecialistico Lambrate hosts diagnostic equipment for electrocardiogram examination. Specifically, diagnosis is performed via:
Resting electrocardiogram
Exercise (or post-exercise) electrocardiogram
The electrocardiogram is an examination through which it is possible to record and graphically represent the electrical activity of the heart, which corresponds to the contractions and releases with which the heart muscle carries out its blood pumping activity.
To perform the electrocardiogram, some special adhesive plates (electrodes) are applied to the skin, connected through electrical wires to a device called an electrocardiograph. The platelets and the wires capture and transmit the electrical activity generated by the heart to the electrocardiograph which, in turn, processes it and prints it on paper in the form of a graphic trace (electrocardiogram).
The standard electrocardiogram allows you to measure the rhythm of the heart, looking for any arrhythmias, and any increase in the size of the heart chambers
The exercise electrocardiogram (or ergometric test or stress test) is an examination that consists in recording the electrocardiogram during physical exertion (unlike the basal electrocardiogram, which is recorded in resting conditions). In this way it is possible to examine the response of the cardio-circulatory system to physical exercise, regarding the heart rate, changes in blood pressure and any changes in the electrocardiographic trace.
It is a test that allows the identification of more latent heart diseases
