FRUCTOSE BREATH TEST

The fructose breath test is an examination that identifies any intolerance to fructose (a sugar) which could be present especially in fruit, in some plant based products and honey.

The test consists in blowing into the appropriate machine in order to collect a sample of initial breath and then assume a certain amount of sugar, fructose in this case, and continue to blow inside the machine every 30 minutes for about three hours.

At the end of the exam, if the levels of hydrogen present in the air exhaled by the patient are high, it could be for a Fructose Intolerance.
